  1. 01 Met on arrival at Colombo International Airport by chauffeur/guide for transfer by air-conditioned limousine to Hotel in Negombo. Afternoon Free for leisure at the beach. Optional city tour of Negombo town, fish market, Dutch canal and Dutch church. Overnight stay at in Negombo
  2. 02 After breakfast, leave for Dambulla. En route visit the ever popular elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. Check in at Hotel at Dambulla. In the afternoon, visit the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress. This world heritage site, consists of the remains of a palace on the top of the rock, a mid level terrace that includes the Lion Gate and the mirror wall with its frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens', a lower palace on the slopes below the rock, the moats, walls and water gardens that extend for some hundreds of meters out from the base.   3. 03 After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, Polonnaruwa is a World Heritage Site. It comprises the Brahmanic monuments built by the South Indian Cholas, and the ruins of the fabulous garden-city created by Parakramabahu I during the golden age of Polonnaruwa in the 12th century. Irrigation systems far superior to those of the Anuradhapura age were constructed. These systems to this day supply the water necessary for paddy cultivation during the dry season. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya (4 huge statues of Buddha carved out of rock), the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, King Parakramabahu's statue, and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.   4. 04 After breakfast leave for Kandy. En route visit Dambulla Rock Temple. Dating from the 1st century B.C., this World Heritage Site has been a place of pilgrimage for 22 centuries. The cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest and best preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. Also on the way, visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices which Sri Lanka is famous for. Check in at Hotel in Kandy. A World Heritage Site and once capital of the Sinhalese Kandyan kingdom, Kandy is the religious capital of Sri Lanka and a place of pilgrimage. The Temple of the Tooth houses Sri Lanka's most important religious relic, the sacred tooth of Buddha. Visit Kandy town; the market, the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum and lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and see a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Return to Hotel. Overnight stay at in Kandy .
  5. 05 After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya, the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country producing a significant share of the world's best quality tea. En route, visit a tea plantation and a tea factory where the entire process from planting to packing stage will be explained to you in addition to how tea is graded and tasted. Also do a city tour of Nuwara Eliya - which because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery is Sri Lanka's most popular hill resort. Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8,282 feet) is located here. Nuwara Eliya is also home to the Golf Club - one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia. .   6. 06 After breakfast leave for Ratnapura. Enjoy an exciting day trip to the heart of the Sri Lanka’s interior and see the “City of Gems” Ratnapura, which has a reputation for producing some of the world’s finest sapphires, rubies, garnets, aquamarines, zircons and alexandrites. No diamonds or emeralds are found in Sri Lanka. Visit the gem museum where you could see a scaled down model of a typical gem pit, showing the different strata of stones. They will also demonstrate the equipment used at the various stages of polishing and cutting of a gem stone. You will see the transformation of a small stone plucked out of the earth to a sparkling status symbol on your finger. Proceed to Udawalawe and Evening Relax in Udawlawe Hotel.
  7. 07 Continue safari tour at 5.30 am. Return to Hotel for late breakfast and depart for Colombo. It is a fascinating drive along Sri Lanka’s coastline and several interesting fishing villages where the Stilt fisherman precariously perched on a stick in the shallow waters of the Indian ocean near Koggala with a fishing rod in his hand is an interesting sight.   8. 08 After breakfast, do a sightseeing tour of Colombo including a visit to Gangaramaya Temple, a Hindu temple, the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law Courts and Independence Square. You will be driven through the bazaar district of Pettah, the commercial 'Fort' area and the wealthy residential area of Cinnamon Gardens. Also shop for Gems, Handicrafts and ‘Ceylon Tea’. Return to hotel for late lunch. After check out, transfer to airport for departure flight.
